Daily Solitaire — Free Online Klondike Card Game
One new deal every day. Same cards for every player. See exactly where you rank.
No ads. No downloads. No sign-up. Just solitaire — the way it should be.
What makes this different from every other online solitaire game
Most free solitaire games online are bloated with banner ads, cookie pop-ups, and auto-playing video ads that slow everything down. Daily Solitaire loads instantly, runs at 60fps on any device, and has zero advertising. The entire game runs in your browser — there is nothing to install and nothing to sign up for.
The competitive twist: every player on the same day receives an identical shuffled deck, generated from a deterministic daily seed. That means when you finish, your score is ranked against a real pool of other players who completed the same deal under the same conditions. Your percentile ranking is not a meaningless number — it reflects exactly how you performed versus everyone else who played that day.
How to play Klondike solitaire
Klondike is the classic solitaire variant — seven tableau columns, a stock pile, a waste pile, and four foundation piles. The goal is to move all 52 cards to the foundations, built by suit from Ace to King.
Cards in the tableau are stacked in alternating colours and descending rank order — a red 7 goes on a black 8, a black Queen goes on a red King. Only Kings can start a new empty column. When you run out of moves in the tableau, draw from the stock pile. Recycle the waste pile when the stock is empty, but doing so costs points.
How scoring works
Points are earned for every meaningful action:
- +15 points — moving a card from the waste pile to a foundation
- +10 points — moving a card from the tableau to a foundation
- +5 points — moving a card within the tableau
- +5 points — flipping a face-down card
- −100 points — recycling the waste pile back through the stock
- −15 points — using undo
When you complete the deal, two bonuses are added. A time bonus worth up to 700 points, which decreases by 2 for every second over 60 seconds. And a move efficiency bonus worth up to 300 points, which decreases by 3 for every move over 80. Complete the game quickly and cleanly to maximise your score.
Is the daily deal always solvable?
Yes. Every daily deal is validated by a solvability algorithm before it is used. The algorithm checks that the deck has accessible Aces, a balanced colour distribution in the stock, and existing alternating sequences in the initial tableau layout. You will never be given an impossible deal.
Can I play solitaire on my phone?
Yes. The game is built mobile-first with touch drag-and-drop using native pointer events. Cards are dynamically sized to fit any screen width — from small phones to large desktop monitors. On iOS you can add it to your home screen from Safari (Share → Add to Home Screen) and it runs like a native app.
Tips to rank higher
The players who crack the top 1% are efficient, not just fast. Speed matters but uncontrolled speed leads to mistakes and wastes undo credits. Some principles that help:
- Uncover face-down cards as early as possible — each flip earns points and opens new moves
- Avoid recycling the stock pile. Each recycle costs 100 points — often more than the card you were looking for is worth
- Don't move cards to foundations too early if doing so blocks tableau sequences you need
- Kings on empty columns should be Kings that have useful sequences — don't fill a column just because you can
- Use undo sparingly — each one costs 15 points and the best players rarely need it
Frequently asked questions
Does everyone really get the same deal?
Yes. The shuffle uses a seeded random number generator where the seed is derived from the current date. Every player on the same calendar day gets an identical 52-card order. The seed changes at midnight.
Can I play yesterday's deal?
No. Each daily deal is only active for 24 hours and the ranking is calculated only against players who finish on the same day. This keeps the competition fair and time-limited.
What does "Top 1%" actually mean?
It means your final score was higher than 99% of all players who completed that day's deal. The ranking updates in real time as more people finish throughout the day — so your rank might improve even after you've played.
Is there a limit on how many times I can play?
One attempt per day, per device. This is what makes the daily ranking meaningful — everyone gets one shot.
What is the Auto-Finish button?
When all remaining cards are face-up and the game can be completed automatically, an Auto-Finish button appears. Tapping it plays out the remaining moves instantly. Your score and ranking are calculated the same way regardless of whether you finish manually or use Auto-Finish.
